As we all voted
on at the club meetings last winter, the classic would be fished on the lake
with the most weight brought in to the scales during the regular season. To stay
with in the laws set up by the Michigan DNR I have started checking on the lake
that are open for the classic. Below is a chart of how they all stand in order
of weight and averages, with Paw Paw not fished yet it is at the bottom of the
list, but will most likely move up after this week end.

Pawpaw
After calling the
DNR and check out what other bass fishing trials have going on for the 20th
of September, I find out that PawPawLake has a tournament planned for
that date by the MBAA. So with this in mind it will go to the next lake on the
list, and as it stands it looks to be Goguac right now. The DNR has informed me
that Goguac is open for a tournament and will let me know if we can have it later
this week for sure.
If that fall through
I called on Union and was informed it looks to be booked
for that date. So if Goguac fall through for some reason our only pick will be
stump Bay which is not a permit lake.
Before everyone
calls me telling me we do not need a permit after Labor Day, yes we do! As our
club saw this last week end on Austin
a club decided to jump on Austin before
us. They have been reported on a DNR site report for not having a permit issued
to them for that date. I do not know what the fine is and I do not care as long
as we stay with in the laws!
